Posted by dhruv shah on
Wouldnt it be amazing if we can make fresh fluffy pancakes everytime we crave for them. But lets be honest we dont always have the time to make them from scratch. Did you know that boxed mixes's can make fluffy pancakes just as the ones made from scratch.
These 6 easy to follow hacks will elevate that boring pancake mix into the delicious, light and fluffy pancakes:
Add Melted Butter
You dont have to add butter to the mix. However adding melted butter to boxed pancake mix makes it extra fluffy and gives it a delicious buttery taste.
Dont Overmix the Batter
Once you have added the wet ingredients to your boxed pancake mix, try not to over mix it. Overmixing will make all the air bubble deflate that is created by the leavening agents in the mix. Leave the batter a bit lumpy. Mix just until the wet and dry ingredients are combined. About 8-10 swirls with your spatula should be enough to mix the batter.
Add some Cheese
Another hack to make boxed panckes moist and fluffy is to add a little bit of ricotta cheese to the mix. This will make the pancakes extra fluffy and creamy. Add a bit of a citrus flavor on top to make it super delicious.
Add Egg whites and yolk separately
If you add eggs to your pancake mix then add the yolk first in the mix. Whip the egg whites separately and fold them in the pancake batter gently for beautiful fluffy Japanese style pancakes. Adding eggs to your pancake mix will give the batter a better texture and flavor.
Add Baking Powder
If your pancake mix has been sitting around in your pantry for a while, then there is a chance that the baking powder added in the mix might have lost its power resulting in flat and boring pancakes. Add a pinch of baking powder to the mix and watch your pancakes fluff up and rise beautifully.
Add your favorite toppings like fruits and nuts and to the pancakes and stack them up. Pour maple syrup over the stack and you have some of the yummiest pancakes with minimal effort.
